I’m pretty excited to share this first adventure of 2019 with you all! As you may or may not know, Tim and I have long since idolized the tiny house movement and the idea of living as minimally as possible. Living without the stress of clutter or unused space seems like a dream and being the organizer that I am, I envision it being like the Marie Kondo method on steroids!
The beginning of the new year seemed like a great time to set some new goals, living situation included.
We made our first real budget spreadsheet. Woot woot! We’ve also stopped living off mac’n’cheese, goldfish crackers and energy drinks and started taking care of our bodies for once! After tons of research and advise from others, we decided to adopt a vegan lifestyle as of a few weeks ago. Both of us so far are really enjoying our renewed energy and spending more time together cooking in the kitchen.
Another huge goal this year will be to stop renting and buy a home. I’m not too wild about the idea in general or the thought of moving again for the millionth time… or so it seems. But i’m trying to stay open to all options and with the opportunity to go stay at this adorable tiny house rental in Sedona, Arizona, I wanted to see what it’s really like to live tiny!
Stay in Sedona
Check out the rentals at tiny camp!
We found Tiny Camp, a community of rentals near Oak Creek just outside of Sedona and had to book it!

Love at first sight for you too? Yep, walking into this place felt like I was walking straight into an interior design magazine. From floor to ceiling this luxury, sustainable tiny home retreat did not disappoint. We chose the “Flow” cabin which is one of 4 unique rentals on this property.
The cabin features a chic interior with soothing grays, vaulted cathedral ceilings and did I mention wifi! It’s not something Tim & I usually get on our trips – if you’ve checked out my instagram lately you’ll remember our last rental didn’t even have a bathroom! I’d click that link if you are in need of a laugh. This stay we were spoiled being able to cuddle up and watch a movie on Netflix, and for me, being able to write this blog post Sunday morning before heading home was a dream.
Enjoy some yoga on the patio!
Not only was the inside super cute but this specific rental has a private viewing deck that overlooks Oak Creek Canyon! Quite a wonderful place to wake up, make some coffee and get your yoga on. They even supplied the coffee and the mat!
The upper level loft overlooks the living room and has some beautiful large windows allowing lots of natural light into the space which really helps this tiny home feel open. The bed was comfortable and cozy! PS: For those wondering, my “nature vibes” top is from KaptivatingCreationz on Etsy!
Note: This camp location is still working on a pet policy we had to get special permission to bring our fur babies on this adventure.
Darin, the owner/host, was a joy to communicate with and made the process very easy! He even left a bottle of wine made from a vineyard here in Arizona along with some vegan snacks that we really appreciated.
So, are we selling everything and buying a tiny home?!
I am on board with transitioning to a more minimalist lifestyle but with two large pups and the thought of starting a family slowly creeping into our heads, it might not be an option for us at this time. We are still gathering inspiration for our next chapter – and for now, there is always Tiny Camp in Sedona any time we want to come back and visit!
