Getting to Corona Arch Trailhead
Tim & I headed out at 4am before the sun came up and were the only ones in the parking lot. One of the perks of being early birds is having trails all to yourself. Not to mention the windy weather on this day probably kept most people away.
This trail begins off the 279 and there is a small parking lot on the right. See the map at the end of this post.
We used the All Trails hiking map for Corona Arch & Bowtie Arch on this visit and it worked great.
My Camera Gear
I shoot on my Sony A7RIII(ad) and many of the images were captured with my 12-24mm lens(ad) and my 35mm lens(ad) on this day.

Arches to Visit
Bowtie Arch
The trail is fairly well defined and easy to see. From the parking lot, follow the trail up to the railroad tracks, cross over the tracks to the other side and continue following the trail. There are also many cairns ( rock stacks ) to help keep you on the right track
About 3/4 of the way through this hike you’ll come across a small metal ladder mounted to the rock. There are also several metal chains to hold on to in one small section of the trail over the slick rock.
Adjacent from Corona Arch is Bowtie Arch which you pass along the way to Corona Arch. The trail to Corona Arch is fairly short at only 3 miles round trip.
Corona Arch
Corona Arch measures approximately 140 feet wide by 105 feet high.
We spent about an hour here watching the sun come up and had the entire place to ourselves. There was one hiker and his pup that we passed on the way back out at 7am :). Luckily we got out right as it had started to rain! The weather can change quickly in this area so always be mindful and be checking it often.
This is a great option in Moab Utah if you are looking for a little trail that is a quick and easy hike.
